We value your privacy and the protection of personal information. This policy explains what information we may process when you visit the official REST NOTE LAB website, contact us by email or use the SOUKET update-check feature, how we use and protect that information, and how you can exercise your rights.
For privacy questions, please contact:
1. Information we process
1.1 Website visits
The REST NOTE LAB website mainly introduces products, provides software downloads, publishes product update information and presents brand-related content.
We plan to use Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery and network security.
When you visit the website, Cloudflare may process the following technical information to deliver web content, handle network requests and maintain service security:
- IP address and approximate network origin.
- Request time, access path and request status.
- Device information such as browser type, operating system and User-Agent.
- Information about network connections, request errors and security checks.
This information is mainly used for web delivery, network security, troubleshooting and service performance maintenance.
You do not need to register a REST NOTE LAB account merely to browse the website.
The visitor analytics, request logs and security features actually enabled on the website will be handled according to the production deployment configuration.
1.2 Email contact
You can contact us at:
- [email protected]: general enquiries, business cooperation and privacy matters.
- [email protected]: SOUKET support, issue reports and technical enquiries.
When you choose to email us, we may process:
- Your email address and any name or form of address provided in the email.
- The email subject, body and attachments.
- Software versions, device environments, error information, screenshots or logs you choose to provide.
- Technical information related to sending, forwarding and replying to email.
This information is used only to handle matters relating to our communication with you, including answering enquiries, troubleshooting, handling feedback and necessary follow-up contact.
We use Cloudflare Email Routing to forward messages received by our brand email addresses to an inbox managed by the operator.
Please do not email passwords, payment information, identity documents or other sensitive information unrelated to the issue. Before submitting screenshots or logs, we recommend removing unnecessary private content.
1.3 Local processing of materials in SOUKET
SOUKET is an audio sample manager designed primarily for offline use.
Its main features include browsing, organising, categorising, searching and previewing audio materials on your device, as well as related local audio processing.
These features are designed to operate on your own device and do not require you to upload samples to REST NOTE LAB servers.
Ownership or usage rights in imported audio materials and related creative content are not transferred merely because you use SOUKET.
Checking for software updates does not require uploading your audio materials, sample library files or musical works.
If we later introduce separate features that require online processing of user content, we will explain how the information is handled before launch and meet the applicable notice and consent requirements.
1.4 SOUKET update checks
SOUKET includes a software update-check feature.
When the application checks for updates, it requests the latest version information from an update service provided by REST NOTE LAB to determine whether an update is available.
We plan to deploy this service through Cloudflare.
Network requests may involve:
- IP address.
- Request time and request path.
- Device or client technical information included in HTTP request headers.
- Necessary parameters sent by the application to obtain or match version information.
The update-check service is used only to provide version information, determine update availability and keep the update service operating normally.
We will not use update checks to read your samples or music project content.
The automatic checking mechanism, request parameters, server log configuration and available opt-out settings in the released version will depend on the final implementation and will be verified before release.
2. How we use information
Within the limits of applicable law, we process personal information on lawful grounds such as providing services, responding to user requests, fulfilling legal obligations or obtaining necessary consent.
The main purposes are:
- Providing website access and product information.
- Receiving and replying to email enquiries.
- Handling product feedback and technical support requests.
- Providing SOUKET update checks.
- Maintaining the security and stability of the website, email and update services.
- Fulfilling legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
If we need to use personal information for new purposes in the future, we will provide a separate notice as required by law and obtain consent where necessary.
3. Cookies and browser storage
The REST NOTE LAB website is currently planned primarily for product information and software downloads, rather than personalised advertising or cross-site profiling.
Cloudflare may use necessary cookies or similar browser technologies depending on the security features actually enabled.
For example, Cloudflare security verification may use a cf_clearance cookie to record that a visitor has passed the relevant security check. Its lifetime depends on the actual security configuration.
If Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled, it can provide traffic and performance statistics without using website visitor tracking cookies.
The use of local storage, other analytics tools or additional cookies depends on the actual configuration at official launch.
You can view, restrict or delete cookies through browser settings. Disabling certain cookies needed for security features may affect normal access to the website.
We will not introduce non-essential tracking technologies that legally require consent without the necessary notice and consent.
4. Service providers and disclosures
We may use the following third-party services to provide the website, email and software update services.
Cloudflare
Service provider: Cloudflare and the affiliated entities that actually provide the relevant services.
Main purposes:
- Website hosting, content delivery and network security.
- Receiving and forwarding brand email.

Information involved may include technical information about network requests, as well as email addresses, email content and attachments processed through Email Routing.
Cloudflare Privacy Policy:
https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
Final inbox provider
Service provider: Google Gmail
Main purposes:
- Receiving and storing forwarded email.
- Managing email correspondence and attachments.
- Helping us reply to users and handle related requests.
We will not provide your personal information to unrelated third parties except to provide the services described above, with your authorisation, to fulfil legal obligations or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.
Cross-border processing
REST NOTE LAB serves users around the world.
Because services such as Cloudflare may use networks and infrastructure located in different countries or regions, technical information and email information may be processed across borders.
The actual recipients, processing locations and safeguards depend on the agreements, privacy notices and actual configurations of the services used.
For cross-border disclosures subject to mainland Chinese personal information protection laws, we will meet the necessary notice, personal information protection and consent requirements to the extent required by law.
You can contact [email protected] for more information or to make a personal information rights request.
5. Retention
We follow the principle of minimum necessity and retain personal information only for as long as needed for the relevant purposes, unless laws or administrative regulations require otherwise.
Email and attachments
We recommend and plan to apply the following management standard:
General enquiries and support emails will be cleared periodically after the relevant matter is resolved, normally no later than 1 month after the last related communication.
If a matter still needs attention, a dispute needs to be resolved or continued retention is required by law, relevant records may be kept for the necessary period.
Attachments unrelated to the processing purpose and unnecessary personal information should be deleted as soon as possible.
Website and update-check records
Technical records generated by the website and update services are handled according to the Cloudflare products actually enabled, their log configurations and applicable retention periods.
We will not actively create unnecessary access-record profiles for the long-term tracking of individuals.
Different Cloudflare services have different retention mechanisms for logs or statistics. Specific periods will be clarified after the production deployment has been verified.
When a retention period expires, or the relevant purpose has been achieved and continued retention is no longer necessary, we will delete or anonymise the information as required by law.
6. Your rights
To the extent provided by applicable law, you may:
- Learn about our processing of your personal information.
- Request access to or a copy of your personal information.
- Request correction or completion of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of personal information under the conditions prescribed by law.
- Restrict or object to relevant processing to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- Withdraw consent for processing based on consent.
- Exercise other personal information rights provided by applicable law.
You can submit requests to:
Please describe your request and the information involved as clearly as possible.
To protect information security, we may verify your identity within a necessary scope and will handle your request within the time limits required by applicable law.
We will explain why a request cannot be fulfilled under the law.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the validity of processing carried out on the basis of consent before withdrawal.
7. Information security
We will take security measures appropriate to our actual information processing activities, including:
- Using service providers with appropriate security mechanisms.
- Applying necessary access protections to service administration accounts.
- Restricting access to email and support materials by people who do not need it.
- Avoiding the collection or retention of personal information unrelated to service purposes.
- Promptly assessing relevant security issues and taking necessary action when they are discovered.
Internet transmission and digital information systems cannot be guaranteed absolutely secure.
If a personal information security incident occurs, we will take remedial action in accordance with law and fulfil notification or reporting obligations where required by applicable law.
8. Policy updates
We may update this Privacy Policy as REST NOTE LAB products and services develop.
Updated versions will be published on the official website with the date of the latest update.
If changes involve important matters such as processing purposes, categories of information, processing methods, retention periods or the way rights are exercised, we will provide appropriate notice as required by law and obtain renewed consent where necessary.
